Tour Itinerary
Day 1 Arrival Day
Guests arrive in Nouakchott, and depending on their arrival time, may be able to visit some of the attractions in the capital.
Day 2 Chinguetti Bound
Breakfast served by the hotel/guest house. Depart for Chinguetti, and stop at the Canyon of Amogjar. See ancient rock paintings nearby. Lunch is served along the way. Arrive in Chinguetti, watch the sunset from dunes outside the city. Stay the night in a guest house where dinner will be served.
Day 3 City to City
Breakfast served by guest house. Tour the old city of Chinguetti, and the ancient library. Depart for the Richat Structure. Lunch served along the way. Stop at Nomadic Oasis of Tenochert for tea. Arrive in Ouadane, tour the ancient city. Dinner served by guest house where guests will spend the night.
Day 4 Day of Oases
Breakfast served by guest house. Depart Ouadane head to Oasis of Mhairith. Have lunch at the oasis. Leave Mhairith for Terjit Oasis, where guests will have dinner and spend the night at a guest house in traditional nomad tents.
Day 5 Valleys & Dunes
Depart Terjit after breakfast. Visit the White Valley where lunch is served. After driving through the valley, head to Big Dunes of Azoueiga. Guests camp under the stars here and dinner is prepared by us.
Day 6 Return to Nouakchott
Breakfast is served by our team. Depart Azoueiga, arrive back to Nouakchott for lunch at the beach. Swimming after lunch. Then visit the fish market, watch the fisherman pull the boats in. Dinner served at the hotel/guest house. This marks the end of the tour, guests prepare for departure, our team provides airport drop-off. Guests spending additional nights after this are responsible for their own arrangements, but we will still offer airport drop-off.

Tour Attractions
Al Khaima City Center
Visit the tallest building in Nouakchott and overlook all the details of the city. Watch the sun set over the horizon from here for a beautiful urban experience.
Big Dunes of Azoueiga
Large dunes tower over the desert floor in a nomadic area. There is an oasis nearby which makes it a scenic area to visit.
Canyon of Amogjare
The canyon is home to a couple different points of interest, including ancient rock paintings from nomadic tribes of the past, and an cinema relic from the French film “Fort Saganne” created in the 80’s.
Chinguetti
Chinguetti is an ancient medieval trading center just east of Atar, in the heart of the Adrar region. It is one of four ancient Mauritanian cities, and easily accessible.
Marché du Poisson
Visit the colorful fishing boats of Nouakchott’s fish markets, with a bustling atmosphere and the freshest fish from the Atlantic.
Oasis of Mhairith
A large producer of dates, the Oasis of M’hereth is the residence of many Mauritania villagers who have access to its fresh water and lush fruits.
Ouadane
Nestled in the Adrar Plateau, Ouadane is one of the four ancient Mauritanian cities. It was a destination on the trans-Saharan trade route and the closest city to the Richat Structure.
Richat Structure
The Richat Structure is a prominent geological formation in the Adrar region northwest of Ouadane. It is often used as a frame of reference for astronauts in orbit.

Terjit Oasis
The Oasis of Terjit was rejuvenated in the 1970’s and serves as a great place for respite from the desert. Fresh mineral water drips from the plateau edges here, and a swimming pool welcomes visitors.
