The Capital of the Adrar
Atar is the commerce center of the Adrar region, and is well-known for its market. It has an iconic rotary in the center, and also has a museum for the region. Visitors will enjoy the local shops, and find that it is a great place to buy a djellaba or scarf for the desert. It is the main pass-through point for people coming and going from the Adrar region. It is very close to Terjit, and makes a good location to stay for older travelers who want to see remote sites like Ben Amera without having to camp in the desert.
